What’s for Breakfast?

Sometimes when we get up in the morning, the idea of food is too much to handle. But we may have medications we need to eat on a full stomach. What’s the answer? Smoothies!

Smoothies are great for breakfast or any time of the day. Packed with protein and calcium for healthy strong bones, for variety choose your favorite fruit and yogurt, nuts, protein powder, or a handful of kale or spinach for an additional boost. And they go down easy! Try it – the variety can be endless!

INGREDIENTS for One Person

Milk (dairy, soy, almond, rice, etc.) – about 1 cup

Yogurt (plain or flavored) – about 1/2 cup

Your choice of fresh or frozen fruit (bananas, berries, peaches) – about 1/2 cup

Your choice of Sweetener (honey, agave, molasses) – about 1 teaspoon or to taste

DIRECTIONS

Starting with the liquid, add your ingredients and blend together using a blender, Vitamix, or food processor.
