J Cafe Congregate Lunch at AgeWell at the JCC
Building on the idea that social eating is healthier eating, the J Cafe is a kosher congregate meal program for Allegheny County residents age 60+. The program was designed to ensure that everyone age 60+ gets a nutritious meal at low or no cost while also making sure that people don’t have to eat alone.
Mollies Meals – Home Delivered Meals
Although older adults can often remain independent at home, meal preparation is one task that can make that more difficult. Home delivered meals is a great way to solve that problem. Mollie’s Meals provides kosher, nutritious, meals to senior adults.
JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry
Food insecurity is an issue we don’t often associate with older adults and yet they are the largest population using food pantries today. Established in 1998, the mission of the pantry is to provide food, nutrition education, and social services to those in need within the Jewish, gluten-free, and 15217 communities.
