UCLA Longevity Center Memory Training Program
UCLA Longevity Center Memory Training Program
This innovative, research-based program is for adults over age 60. The four-week program focuses on strategies that develop good memory habits and techniques to improve memory. The course targets the four most common memory complaints:
-Forgetting names and faces
-Forgetting to do things in the future—like keeping appointments, passing on a phone message, or forgetting why you walked into a room
-Forgetting where you put things—like keys, glasses, wallet
-Knowing something you can’t immediately recall, or “tip of the tongue” memory challenges.
This program is not intended for people with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia.
The course is taught by certified trainers who lead discussions in a fun, engaging atmosphere. Sessions include group discussions, memory checks, and skill-building exercises.
Booster sessions are also available to reinforce memory skills gained during the course.
