Recipe for Sticky Honey Drumsticks

Dark meat chicken, like drumsticks, pack a nutritional punch. Taurine can lower the risk of coronary heart disease in women with high cholesterol, and may help protect against diabetes and high blood pressure. So go ahead and eat a drumstick!


½ cup honey

1 TBSP finely minced garlic

1 large navel orange, zested and juiced

3 TBSPS olive oil

1 TBSP dried oregano

½ tsp kosher salt

¼ tsp pepper

2 lbs chicken legs


Combine all the ingredients except the chicken and whisk together. Pour half the mixture into a gallon size zip bag and keep the rest for later. Add the chicken legs to the bag, seal and massage the marinade into the chicken. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes but longer is better!

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place chicken legs on a foiled greased pan and throw away the marinade. Bake chicken for 25 minutes the brush both sides of the chicken with the reserved sauce and flip. Cook another 20 minutes.
