Caregiver Support Group
A Caregiver support group is a place where family caregivers are welcome to come and learn from one another, lend support to one another, and help each other through the stresses of caregiving. It is a confidential space for all issues regarding giving care to another person in your life. AgeWell Pittsburgh offers two of these groups on a monthly basis. One meets at the JAA, helping those dealing mainly with dementia issues. The day and time is currently being changed and we will update you when it is chosen. The other meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 1:30 -3:00 pm at JF&CS and is a non-disease specific group (one of the few in Allegheny County), so caregivers dealing with any kind of diagnosis can attend. There is no cost associated with this program, which is affiliated with the Pittsburgh section of the Greater Pennsylvania chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
It sure is - if you identify as a caregiver for any loved one, related or not, you are more than welcome to join the group.
