DESCRIPTION:The Volunteer Center of Pittsburgh has teamed up with Deena Ross and Moishe Siebzener from Creative Kosher\, who are generously donating their kitchen\, time and supplies to help us with this project.  The Squirrel Hill Community Food Pantry serves more than 850 people every year. SUMMARY:Computer Refurbishment with Computer Reach
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we partner with Computer Reach\, a non-profit social enterprise that trains volunteers to refurbish used computers and digital equipment in an environmentally responsible manner. They work with funding partners to provide refurbished equipment to qualified humanitarian organizations around the world to meet their technology needs so they can better serve their communities. They also support the equipment placed and specify environmentally responsible recycling. We will be meeting at their space at 9:30am on Friday\, April 28th to help refurbish some computers for a good cause. No previous experience\, knowledge\, or expertise required so all are welcome! \nNote: All volunteers are required to wear closed toed shoes.  Please enter near the corner of N. DESCRIPTION:ASSET STEM Education is a national education improvement nonprofit that fosters STEM fluency and college/career readiness by providing all educators of students Pre-K through career with highly effective professional development\, hands-on educational materials and consulting services.  We will be working in their materials support center to help keep learning materials affordable by refurbishing them for future use (e.g.\, cleaning\, packing\, counting and sorting). ASSET then provides these hands-on STEM kits to classrooms and education programs. Participants must be at least 18 years old to volunteer in the warehouse.
