AgeWell Rides is a volunteer-based transportation system for clients 60 or over who cannot drive and provides a way for seniors to get to doctor appointments, grocery shopping, volunteer work, or social events in the community while at the same time making a new friend driving. The program helps seniors stay active and independent as well as remain connected to the larger community. The service is for the East End of Pittsburgh primarily, including Oakland, Squirrel Hill and Shadyside, as well as Mount Lebanon. AgeWell Rides is an ongoing service with rides provided 7 days a week by volunteers as available. There is no cost associated with this program as funders such as private foundations, donors, and the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania help support our initiatives.
