AgeWell Pittsburgh has a variety of food and meal services that are critical to maintaining a balanced lifestyle and good nutrition for a healthy outlook.
The Squirrel Hill Community Food Pantry serves all individuals and families who live in the 15217 area, and those outside 15217 who keep kosher, and meet income requirements. It is a kosher food pantry, and can thus fully meet the needs of those in our community who keep kosher. However, it is not necessary to keep kosher to receive food assistance. Supplemental food is distributed twice per month. For those who are homebound, food is delivered.
Home Delivered Meals
Mollie’s Meals is a Meals on Wheels program of AgeWell Pittsburgh and is the only provider of kosher home-delivered meals in Western Pennsylvania. Anyone age 60 and older who resides in Allegheny County is eligible. Mollie’s Meals volunteers deliver up to two dinners per day, three days a week, to local seniors. The meals, which can be adapted to special dietary needs, are priced affordably.
A nutritious kosher lunch is served weekdays through the Allegheny County Area Agency on Aging (ACAAA) Senior Center at the Jewish Community Center.
